FAQs

Our team at Radical Chiropractic Company has put together a list of frequently asked questions and answers to help you understand the basics of neurologically-based chiropractic care before you even set foot in our practice. Simply put, a Subluxation is when a bone in the spine has moved out of place in three dimensions causing pressure and torsion on the brain stem/nervous system. The cascade effect due to a Subluxation can be numerous, but more importantly, this causes an interference in the communication between the brain and the body not allowing the system as a whole to function optimally.

The first visit is about 45 minutes long. Your first experience will likely consist of a thorough discovery including a neurological exam, orthopedic testing, doctor consultation, and motion study x-rays. You will receive your first treatment at this appointment as long as it is determined safe to do so.

With the exception of young children, yes. Since the skin in the neck is so thin, there is very little radiation that penetrates through in order to see the bones. X-rays allow us to avoid any guessing as to how to correct your subluxation.

The first visit is just $95. This covers ANY & ALL services or testing deemed necessary.

We see children from birth.  Considering that birth is your first major trauma that you endure, we would like to remove any interference as early as possible to help you live your life to your fullest potential. Dr. Taylor has seen infants as early as 2 weeks old.

We pride ourselves on our chiropractic work with newborns and children.  It is a huge passion at Radical Chiropractic Company and is always an honor to have the opportunity to work with your children.

Absolutely! Dr. Taylor is also  Webster Certified in how to adjust women during all stages of pregnancy in order to help you stay comfortable and to allow the proper room for your child to grow healthy and happy.

Considering there is no torquing or twisting of the spine, this adjustment can be very easy to accept.  It is a very fast adjustment though, and some people can be a little startled by the first one, but almost always comment about how easy it actually was.

RCC does NOT accept insurance, but we are more than happy to provide you with a Super Receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Here’s Why: We do not take insurance because we do not want insurance telling me what we can and cannot do for my practice members.

In general, insurance companies are not focused on any preventative or wellness services. They were designed for quick, short-term symptom and disease care and treatment which is heavily invested in the conventional model of health care that too often relies on drugs and surgery.

As Chris Kresser says, “Insurance-based medicine is not evidence-based medicine.” Realize that what our culture calls health care is actually “sick” care, since it has little to do with advancing true health. It’s mostly about suppressing symptoms while ignoring the underlying cause. We am committed to a vitalistic model that addresses the underlying causes of your symptoms with gentle + specific, nervous system focused chiropractic adjustments.

Now, if you have a policy it will probably help with at least some of the expense of your sick care. But few policies pay for things that help us keep our health.

Most insurance does not cover chiropractic care for children. We are not willing to exclude the segment of the population that chiropractic care can benefit and impact the most. It is, and always will be, easier and less expensive to grow healthy children than to repair damaged adults.

The great news is that by not having to deal with insurance companies, office costs are kept down, so we can offer affordable chiropractic care for the whole family. If you have chiropractic coverage, we will gladly provide you with the necessary documentation to get reimbursed if you’re willing to file yourself.

We accept HSA and FSA forms of payment in my office and always welcome open and honest conversations about finances. We am here to serve you and will do all that we can to help!

Our office does not bill Medicare. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Everyone tends to react a little bit differently to the first adjustment.  Most tend to feel a little sore at first.  This is a much different soreness than before, though.  Since the nervous system is recalibrating, it will activate different muscle fibers in order to try and hold the adjustment and realign the spine on it’s own. These fibers can get sore, just like working out for the first time in a while.

Dr. Taylor recommends to drink lots of water, maybe apply ice if necessary (not heat), and to relax for that first day after the adjustment.  Dr. Taylor will also most likely give you a call within the first few days to check in on you and see how you are doing.

We like to give the first adjustment a few days to settle in before we have you come back to get re-checked.

After your initial consultation, Dr. Taylor will have a more clear idea of what length of care will be necessary for you.  The first month is typically where you will experience a major change in symptoms, but our main goal ultimately is to have you start holding the adjustment as soon as possible so that your body can start the healing process.

Absolutely.  Car accidents are a very difficult trauma to heal from and Radical Chiropractic Company is a phenomenal place to help heal and get back to normal life as soon as possible.  A 5 mph fender bender is the equivalent of a 30 mph car accident when it comes to how the body absorbs the forces of that accident.  It is always a smart thing to at least come in and get assessed by your doctor immediately after your accident.
